Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Ng Teck Fong’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and deep respect for tradition. Born in Melaka in 1937, Tan Sri Ng’s journey from humble beginnings to a successful entrepreneur has shaped not only Malaysia’s jewellery industry but also its cultural landscape. A passionate collector of antiques, he believed that the past holds invaluable lessons for the future. This belief led to the creation of the Ng Teck Fong Jewellery Museum, where his vast collection; spanning goldsmith tools, household items, artworks, and much more; was made accessible to the public.
Tan Sri Ng’s contributions to the cultural fabric of Malaysia and beyond are extensive. Through his philanthropy, he donated significant collections to museums in Malaysia, China, and other international institutions, ensuring that the wisdom of the past lives on for generations to come.
